Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). The second largest and privately held refrigerated warehouse and distribution company, Millard Refrigerated Services, Incorporated (Omaha, Nebraska) has plans all over the map to build three brand new refrigerated warehouses in California, Alabama and Ontario, Canada. By mid 2005, the company will have an additional 580,000 square feet of new warehouse in operation in addition to the 4.4 million square feet already under roof in the United States. A new site in Toronto, Ontario will be the company's first location outside the United States.

Millard's Construction Services division handles all issues pertaining to facility refrigeration systems, the backbone of the company. To ensure proper installation and operations for the life of a facility, Millard has taken on a hands-on approach to this critical component in construction to make certain the installation is done properly.

Millard selected Giffels Design Build Incorporated (Toronto, Ontario) to construct the new 250,000 square foot warehouse in Toronto that is currently under construction. Groundbreaking was held just a few weeks ago on this $20 million facility that is expected to be operational by the Fall of 2004. (PEC 53001875)

Next up is a $10.5 million, 150,000 square foot warehouse in Manteca, California. The owner will again seek a Design-Build firm to develop the building and infrastructure and take on refrigeration issues "In-House". Construction on the Manteca facility is expected to begin early 2004. (PEC 06004163)

The Theodore, Alabama facility will perhaps be the crown jewel of all of Millard's facilities. Plans for this $27 million facility call for an 180,000 square foot building and two ship berths on the Theodore ship channel to expand the companyýs import and export markets. Construction here is expected to begin early next year and become operational by mid-2005 and a 70,000 square foot expansion is already rumored to be in the works. (PEC 04002677)

Founded in 1962, Millard Refrigerated Services is the second largest refrigerated warehouse and distribution company in the United States. The company has current and projected space of more than 6.4 million square feet, translating into 192 million cubic feet of refrigerated warehouse, distribution, and processing space in 27 locations throughout the country.
