Missouri River Energy Services Begins Construction on $50 Million Expansion Project at Exira

Construction for the expansion project started earlier this month and is scheduled to be complete and ready for full commercial start-up in early 2007. The project will consist of adding a 45-megawatt (MW) duel-fueled GE Power Systems (aero-derivative) LM6000 SPRINT combustion turbine generator to the existing site. Once operational, the new unit will operate in a simple cycle peaking configuration along with two existing turbines, boosting the plant’s generating capacity to 135 megawatts.

Casey Industrial, Incorporated, based in Broomfield, Colorado, is providing the turnkey E+P+C (engineering, procurement and construction) services for the project.
