Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Nestle S.A. (OTC:NSRGY) (Vevey, Switzerland) plans to build its first water bottling plant in the Pacific Northwest at a site in Columbia Locks, Oregon.
The proposed facility will be located on a 25-acre site along the Columbia River and will require construction a 250,000-square-foot building and two automated bottling lines. Selection of engineering and construction firms may not occur prior to September 2010, mainly due to environmental and permitting issues. Construction is slated for the first quarter of 2012, and the facility may be operational in the first half of 2012.
Nestle has 26 spring-fed bottling plants in the United States and Canada.
