New Company Begins Operation of Texas Compounding and Pipe Plant

Conduit Specialties, Incorporated (CSI) (Pasadena, Texas), a newly created company, has successfully begun commercial operations of the former Lamson & Sessions (NYSE:LMS) (Cleveland, Ohio) plant site in Pasadena, Texas. CSI acquired the plant last year, just as Lamson & Sessions was beginning to relocate many of the production lines to Midwestern plants as part of a large consolidation effort.

CSI has resumed production of plastic corrugated pipe at the site and recently completed the installation of a new 2,000-liter stainless steel blend tower. The addition of this new tower, along with new extruders that are being installed now, is part of CSI's goal to begin producing custom-compounded plastics and colors as a toll producer. It is CSI's plan to have the most sophisticated compounding equipment available in a region to meet the demand for high quality technical grade plastics and custom colors.

CSI is a joint venture of JP Industrial (Lisbon, Ohio), Heritage Plastics South Incorporated (Tampa, Florida), and private investors, including one of the plant's former plant managers.
