Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Denver Newspaper Agency (Denver, Colorado) plans to build an $83.6 million newspaper publishing plant in Denver, Colorado (Plant 1063234, PEC ID 41000603).
Located in the downtown area along Colfax Avenue and Broadway in Adams County, construction for a 308,000 square foot building is planned for spring 2005 with completion slated for fall 2006. The new building will be built to consolidate operations from The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News under one roof. New equipment will also be installed. The project is still in the preplanning stages and no funding has been issued.
The new facility will also house corporate offices for the MediaNews Group, parent company of The Denver Post and also E.W. Scripps Company, owner of the Rocky Mountain News.
Media News Group and The E.W. Scripps Company, both headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, equally own the Denver Newspaper Agency. The Denver Newspaper Agency, formed more than two years ago, has been ranked in the Top ten for high circulation numbers for both papers. The Agency handles all business operations for The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. Both newspapers have been operating from separate buildings since their joint consolidation agreement in 2001.
