Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Northleaf Capital Partners (Northleaf) (Toronto, Ontario) is on schedule to have three renewable energy projects online by the end of the year: the 50.4-megawatt (MW) Cotton Plains Wind and 151.2-MW Old Settler Wind facilities in Floyd County, Texas; and the 15.4-MW Phantom Solar facility on-site at U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

All three projects are under construction and are expected to be completed in December. The Cotton Plains and Old Settler Wind projects will feature General Electric (NYSE:GE) (Fairfield, Connecticut) wind turbines. Together, they will generate more than 200 MW for Floyd County. The Phantom Solar project will generate 50.4 MW of renewable energy.

The trio of projects were developed by Apex Clean Energy (Apex)(Charlottesville, Virginia), but were acquired by Northleaf Capital Partners this July.

The Cotton Plains Wind and Phantom Solar projects will supply energy to Fort Hood. The Old Settler Wind facility will generate enough power for about 51,000 average-sized U.S. homes.

Fagen Incorporated (Granite Falls, Minnesota) is performing engineering, procurement and construction services for the wind projects, and Phoenix Solar AG (Munich, Germany) is leading construction of the solar farm. The three projects have a total investment value of more than $462 million. Northleaf Capital Partners will own the projects, and a contracted third-party operator will be responsible for operation and maintenance of the wind and solar farms.
