Officials were looking to have the issues resolved by now, but engineers have further investigated these issues and discovered additional problems, which have extended the outage. Unit 8 is designed as a 540-megawatt (MW) nuclear Parsons Power Generation unit, which consists of one pressurized water reactor boiler but regulatory officials are pushing out 516 MW of electricity.
