Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Park Electrochemical Corporation (NYSE:PKE) (Melville, New York) is planning a major expansion of the recently completed and commissioned Park Aircraft Technologies Corporation facility, located at the airport in Newton, Kansas. The facility is designed to develop and produce advanced composite materials for the aircraft and space industries. The plant contains approximately 52,000 square feet of manufacturing, laboratory and office space and cost approximately $15 million to construct and equip. The new expansion, which consists of about 42,000 square feet of manufacturing, office and storage space, is expected to cost approximately $5 million and be operational by September 2010.
