Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--India's Barauni-Guwahati natural gas pipeline, which was planned to be commissioned in 2021, is now expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2022. The delay in the completion of the pipeline occurred due to disruptions to the project at local and state levels.

The 726-kilometer pipeline is being constructed under the Urja-Ganga scheme as part of India's Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for the northeast portion of the country and is planned to cover eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Assam. The pipeline is being constructed to supply industrial facilities in the eastern part of India with natural gas to fertilizer units, power plants, refineries, steel processing plants and other industries.
