Multi-Plastics Incorporated (Lewis Center, Ohio) is in the process of building a 33,000 square foot plant in Whitby, Ontario (Plant 1062591). This will be Multi-Plastics' second plant in Whitby. The new plant located on Moore Court will manufacture thin gauge plastic films.

Johnson Building Construction (Whitby, Ontario) is the general contractor for the project, which broke ground on August 27, 2003. Construction is expected to be complete in August 2004 with production commencing in October.

In 1995, Multi-Plastics Incorporated acquired Imagemaker Films, a sheeting company with more than 20 years experience in cut-to-size sheet plastics. Now Multi-Plastics operates eight manufacturing plants in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom. Manufacturing plants run at least 25 slitters twenty-four hours a day providing custom slitting at all locations. Multi-Plastics products can be found in almost any home and supermarket in North America.
