Polaris Infrastructure to Expand 72-MW Geothermal Plant in Nicaragua, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Polaris Energy Nicaragua SA, the Nicaraguan subsidiary of Toronto-based renewable power producer Polaris Infrastructure Incorporated, plans to install to additional 5 megawatts (MW) of units at its 72-MW San Jacinto-Tizate geothermal plant in the state of Leon. According to the schedule, Polaris Energy Nicaragua is completing the reformulation of technical specifications and will release an international EPC tender during the second quarter of this year. It will start construction during the second quarter of 2022. IIR is tracking investments of over $3 billion in geothermal capital projects in Latin America, most of them concentrated in the Andean area of the continent.
