The Netherlands Antilles' state-run petroleum refiner, Refineria di Korsou (RdK), has received three proposals from companies interested in operating the 225,000-barrel-per-day Willemstad Isla Refinery in Curacao. Venezuela's PDVSA previously had a contract (now expired) to run the refinery, which is offline due to unplanned events, a lack of crude oil and financial issues.
A new operator was expected to be selected in 2020; however, current plans are to award a new operator by late February. Refineria di Korsou (RdK) plans to resume refinery operations by March 2021.
