Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Rompetrol Group NV (Amsterdam, Netherlands) is restarting its 70,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Petromidia refinery in the city of Constanta, Romania, after a planned turnaround that started on October 17.
The 16-day non-production turnaround focused on the regeneration of the Platformer Unit (Semiregen/Cyclic Reformer) in the refining area of the production complex. This is considered to be a "technical shutdown" and is performed every 12 months at the refinery. The next major shutdown, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2010, is for mandatory maintenance and inspection. Units are planned to be brought offline for 30 days.
The Petromidia refinery became part of the Rompetrol Group in 2001. The refinery's main products are gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas and Jet A-1 fuel.
Rompetrol Group owns three production facilities in Romania: Rompetrol Rafinare Petromidia, Rompetrol Petrochemicals, and the 10,000-BBL/d Vega refinery.
