Rompetrol's Petromidia Refinery to Begin Planned Turnaround

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Rompetrol Group NV (Amsterdam, Netherlands) will begin a two-week turnaround in October on the company's 70,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Petromidia refinery in the city of Constanta, Romania.

The overhaul is to begin October 17 and is expected to last two full weeks. This technical shutdown will involve the whole facility. The focus of the turnaround is the regeneration of the Platformer Unit (Semiregen/Cyclic Reformer) in the refining area.

The Petromidia refinery was designed and built between 1975 and 1977, and became part of the Rompetrol Group in 2001. Rompetrol is currently the largest energy company in Romania. The Petromidia refinery's main products are gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas and Jet A-1 fuel.

Rompetrol Group's diverse operations extend through refining, retail and marketing fields, with 40 subsidiaries in countries such as France, Romania, Spain and southeastern Europe.
