Currently, dirt work and footings for the building are being installed under the direction of construction manager, Legacy Partners Incorporated (Santa Clarita, California) and general contractor Oltmans Construction Company (Whitter, California).
The $13 million, 73,000 square foot winery will have the capacity of producing 220,000 cases per year of kosher wines and will be outfitted with some 80 fermentation tanks, grape crushing equipment, and a bottling operation.
The winery will process concord grapes into kosher wines in accordance with Jewish dietary laws. Kosher wine production entails crushing, bottling, and sealing equipment and machinery that must be used exclusively for the production of kosher products. Kosher wines are subject to a very stringent filtration procedure and no foreign substance may be used, nor artificial coloring or preservatives added.
Completion of the project is scheduled for late Fall of 2004.
Royal Wine has a heritage of perfection and family tradition, which spans over eight generations of superb wine production. They are the largest producer, importer and distributor of wines & spirits bearing kosher certification in the world. The company also operates one other kosher winery in Marlboro, New York.
