Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In the pastoral village of Cary, Illinois, just beyond the outskirts of metropolitan Chicago, Sage Products assumes an imposing yet quiet presence. Ranked by Modern Healthcare and The Great Place to Work Institute as one of the top-five best medium-size companies to work for in America, Sage bases its state-of-the-art manufacturing ideology on the premise that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, while forming their corporate culture around the core values of a caring family.
Innovation is at the forefront of Sage's corporate philosophy. Sage develops many of its products in-house and doesn't simply produce existing concepts. Sage's 500+ associates, many who have been employed there for 10 or more years, produce a myriad of products in a quality, high-tech facility while being conscious of the environment as well. Whenever possible, eco-friendly Sage uses local sourcing to eliminate excessive transportation energy consumption, and most manufacturing is performed within their facility. The firm also uses 30% to 100% recycled corrugated products for their packaging. The fibers used in the manufacturing process come from sustainable forest plantations within the United States.
Sage manufactures hundreds of products in the company's current 363,500-square-foot facility. The facility is automated to the highest degree, incorporating integrated vision systems to ensure high quality output. However, rapid growth requires expanded space. Presently, Sage is in the process of constructing an approximately 158,000-square-foot addition to its campus. The project will allow expanded storage space for raw materials and will increase manufacturing capabilities. The architecture portion of the project is being handled by Harris Architects Incorporated (Elgin, Illinois) and the design-builder of the addition is Triumph Development (Elgin). The construction is expected to commence in April, and the project should be completed within nine to 10 months.
As the era of the baby boomer continues to mature, Sage's products will continue to assist healthcare providers offer this prominent population a safer and ecologically friendly way to avoid unnecessary hospital-based maladies. Sage Products lives up to its name and continues to provide a wise ounce of prevention.
