Salmon River Electric Cooperative Considers Renewable Energy Resources

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Salmon River Electric Cooperative Incorporated (Challis, Idaho), a rural transmission and distribution company that services Blaine, Custer and Lemhi counties in Idaho, is considering the possibility of becoming a power-generating utility.

The company has been studying wind generation for a couple of years, although the construction of wind turbines on the steep ridges in the area would be difficult.
