Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Deer Park Refining, Limited Partnership (DPRLP), is evaluating a $200 million expansion to increase production of gasoline at its 340,000 barrels per day refinery located in Deer Park, Texas. DPRLP, formed in February 1993, is a 50-50 joint venture partnership between Shell Oil Company and PMI Norteamerica, S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex).
DPRLP is currently working with Shell Global Solutions and expects to select an engineering firm in January to begin basic design. If approved in late 2006, construction could commence in early 2008, with the tie-ins taking place during a turnaround in early 2009.
DPRLP is located about 20 miles east of downtown Houston along the Ship Channel, and original operations began in 1929 as Shell Oil Company. The assets of the refinery are managed and operated by Shell Oil Company through Shell Deer Park Refining Company, a division of Shell Oil Products Company, a Shell Oil Company subsidiary.
