Shin Poong Pharmaceutical Invests in Ansan, Osong Plants

KOFU, JAPAN--December 31, 2025-hin Poong Pharmaceutical (Seoul, South Korea) is seeking to secure funding for a large-scale manufacturing investment at its Osong (Cheongju) and Ansan plants in South Korea.

The substantial investment will be used to construct new solid dosage and injectable fill and finish manufacturing plants, as well as an automated warehouse, on idle land at the Osong plant. Meanwhile, other funds will be allocated to the Ansan plant for the replacement of aging utilities.

Shin Poong Pharmaceutical operates two manufacturing plants in Ansan: Plant 1, which produces KGMP-compliant pharmaceutical products, and Plant 2, which is dedicated to the production of penicillin and antimalarial drugs. Its Osong plant specializes in the manufacturing of cephalosporin antibiotics.
