Site preparation is currently underway for a grassroot insulated roof panel manufacturing plant in Smithfield, Pennsylvania. The project is being built by Hunter Panels, Incorporated (Portland, Maine), a business segment of Carlisle SynTec, Incorporated Company located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Plans are to construct a 210,000 square-foot plant and install equipment to manufacture single-ply polyisocyanurate foam insulated roofing products and systems. Site preparation began in November 2005, with building construction slated to begin in January 2006. Overall completion is anticipated for early summer 2006. The new plant will service the Mid-West and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. The new site will initially employ approximately 70 production workers.

Forcum Lannom Contractors LLC, located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, is providing the general construction services for the new plant.

At present time, the company has produced over 10 billion square feet of roofing membranes. Another thermoplastic roofing membrane plant is anticipated to open in Tooele, Utah.
