Researched by Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Solutia Incorporated (OTC:SOLUQ) (Saint Louis, Missouri) has begun planning and engineering for an effort to relocate the production of specialty fluids Skydrol and SkyKleen from its J. F. Queeny plant site in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Anniston, Alabama. Solutia has secured Day & Zimmerman Incorporated (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) to provide engineering and construction services related to this estimated $6 million move.
Solutia plans to close the J. F. Queeny plant, which employs an estimated 90 people, upon the successful startup and operation of the new production units in Anniston. Skydrol is an aviation hydraulic fluid and SkyKleen is an aviation cleaning solvent, both of which are well matched with the production of specialty fluids currently produced in Anniston.
