Sonatrach plans to invest about $1.6 billion to set up a grassroot linear alkyl benzene plant along with an n-paraffin unit in Skikda, Algeria. Presently, Sonatrach is conducting front-end engineering design (FEED) work and is simultaneously looking for maximum investments. The plant will produce 100,000 metric tons per year of linear alkyl benzene as the final product. The plant is predicted to start operations by mid-2021.
