Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Southwest Electric Power Design Institute (SWEPDI) (Chengdu, Sichuan), a regional subsidiary of China Power Engineering Consulting Corporation (CPECC) (Beijing), received the award from ChinaCoal Tendering Company Limited (Beijing) for the preparation of the feasibility study report of ChinaCoal Pingshuo Coal Industry Company Limited's (Shuozhou, Shanxi) 1,320-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power project in Shuozhou recently, the CPECC announced on May 15.
SWEPDI will be responsible for the required survey, design and related services in the feasibility study stage of the proposed coal-fired power plant, including the preparation of the feasibility study report and all required field investigation, survey, data collection, as well as the preparation of individual support documents required for the feasibility study report.
The proposed coal-fired power project is located in the Cyclic Economic Industrial Park in the Pinglu district of Shuozhou city, and is adjacent to ChinaCoal Pingshuo's 1,320-MW circulating fluidize bed (CFB) demonstration power plant, for which preliminary engineering is currently under way. The project will be invested by ChinaCoal Pingshuo No.1 Coal Gangue Power Generation Company Limited (Shuozhou, Shanxi), a majority-owned subsidiary of ChinaCoal Pingshuo, with joint investment from China Datang Corporation (Beijing) and Dongfang Electric Corporation (Chengdu, Sichuan).
As reported, the project will be built to replace smaller, less efficient coal-fired plants with more modern technologies. Two 660-MW ultra-supercritical pulverized coal-fired boilers with weathered coal, a mixture of coal waste and intermediate coal with heat volume around 3,500to 4,000 kilocalories as the main fuel will be built in the project.
Under the mandate of ChinaCoal Pingshuo No.1 Coal Gangue Power, ChinaCoal Tendering Company issued the invitation for bids to prepare the feasibility study report for the project in February 2012. Based on its rich experiences in CFB-based coal-fired power plants, SWEPDI won the bid.
