Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company Looking Far into the Future to Spend Some Big Bucks
Tennessee Gas plans to hold an open season in the first quarter of 2004 to measure market support for the expansion. All things considered construction of this project would not occur until 2006 at the earliest.

Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company (Houston Texas) is studying several scenarios involving the addition of new natural gas capacity in the Northeast. One such scenario involves the construction of 193 miles of pipeline looping in New York and Pennsylvania of various diameters and locations including a segment in the Hudson River. In addition to the looping there will be horsepower additions to seven separate existing compressor stations totaling approximately 35,000 horsepower in these two states and possibility others in Ohio.

Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company is a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation (Houston Texas) (NYSE:EP) and operates a 14,700-mile pipeline stretching from Mexico to Canada and powered by over 1.4 million horsepower of compression along its system.
