ISP currently operates approximately 58 existing reactor vessels at the plant site
Released Tuesday, November 16, 2004
Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). International Specialty Products Incorporated (ISP) (Wayne, New Jersey) is planning to make a serious investment at its Port Neches, Texas, plant, over the next several years, to nearly double the capacity of the existing 400 to 450 million pound per year Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) production. In preparing for this growth plan, ISP spent nearly $18 million this year for pilot production units and upgrades including butadiene and styrene blending units, each costing an estimated $1.3 million.
ISP plans to self perform much of the engineering for this project with its corporate engineering group located in its Wayne offices. ISP is awaiting permit approval and has proposed to accomplish the increase to nearly 800 million pounds per year with little or no increase in emissions.
