                    Tropical Cyclone Damien hit Australia's biggest iron ore province over the weekend, shutting down ports and airports in the northern areas of Western Australia. All affected ports and the Karratha airport resumed normal activities Monday afternoon.
The cyclone crossed the coast near Rio Tinto's port at Dampier, Western Australia, suggesting Rio Tinto may have been more affected by the storm than rival miners BHP and Fortescue Metals Group. But there were no immediate reports of damage at the ports and mines, and infrastructure inspections are underway. Mines near the cyclone include:
