Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Western Africa expects to mark a nascent increase in crude oil and natural gas production with upcoming floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel projects in the Gulf of Guinea, and further out in the Atlantic Ocean.
The projects include Tortue FPSO in Mauritania, Sangomar FPSO in Senegal, Bonga Southwest in Nigeria, and Cameia and PAJ in Angola. Combined, these projects are expected to enhance the production of crude oil by 450,000 barrels per day and natural gas by 580 million standard cubic feet per day, both by 2030. These facilities will meet hydrocarbon demand in their respective countries and enhance crude-oil exports to other regions, such as Europe.
The natural gas produced also will provide feedstock for various planned and existing power-generation facilities, as well as meet growing demand for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
