LNG
Commonwealth LNG Wants More Time to Build Louisiana Facility - Commonwealth LNG (Houston, Texas) has asked federal regulators for a four-year extension to construct and begin exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a proposed export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, a regulatory document shows. In a letter to the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Commonwealth said the extension was needed due to an approval pause implemented by former U.S. President Joe Biden last year. While President Donald Trump lifted the freeze earlier this year, the company said it cannot meet the present deadline of November 2027 and wants it extended to December 2031. NATURAL GAS
EIA: Natural Gas Output, Demand to Hit Record Highs This Year - U.S. natural gas output and demand will both rise to record highs in 2025, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its Short-Term Energy Outlook on Tuesday. The EIA projected that dry gas production will climb from 103.2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in 2024 to 107.1 Bcf/d in 2025 and 107.4 Bcf/d in 2026. That compares with a record 103.6 Bcf/d in 2023. The agency also projected that domestic gas consumption will rise from a record 90.5 Bcf/d in 2024 to 91.6 Bcf/d in 2025 and 2026. (Reuters)
INDIA
India's September Fuel Demand Drops to One-Year Low - India's fuel consumption hit a one-year low in September, slipping slightly month-on-month to 18.63 million metric tons, oil ministry data showed on Tuesday. India is the world's third-largest consumer and importer of oil and the largest buyer of Russian seaborne crude, taking advantage of discounts on Russian oil as Europe and the U.S. shun those barrels over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
