Britain Imports No Fuel from Russia for First Time on Record
- Britain imported no fuel from Russia in June for the first time since records began 25 years ago, as sanctions on Moscow in response to its invasion of Ukraine helped drive a 97% decline in imports of Russian goods, official data showed last week. The Office for National Statistics said there had been a sharp and continued decrease in fuel imports from Russia since March, with June's zero imports representing a decrease of 499 million pounds (US$588 million) compared with the monthly average for the 12 months before the invasion in February this year. U.S. Rig Count Up for Week, Down for Month
- The U.S. oil and gas rig count rose three to 765 in the week ending August 26, energy services firm Baker Hughes Company (NYSE:BKR) (Houston, Texas) said. For the month, the total oil and gas count was down two rigs. (Reuters)

China's CNOOC Aims for 28% Oil Production Growth by 2025 - Chinese offshore oil and gas major CNOOC (Beijing), expects its annual domestic crude oil production to reach 1.2 million barrels per day (BBL/d) by 2025, 28% above its current level. The targeted output compares to first-half production offshore China in 2022 of 169.5 million barrels, or about 936,000 BBL/d. (Reuters)
