Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Valspar Corporation (NYSE: VAL) (Minneapolis, Minnesota) is nearing completion of a new paint production plant in Sacramento, California. The production plant will occupy a newly constructed 70,000 square foot building addition at the site of an existing approximately 140,000 square foot warehouse and distribution center.
Initial production of paint should begin next month and ramp up over the summer months. This approximately $15 million new plant will produce consumer paints for two of Valspar's largest West Coast customers, Wal-Mart Stores and Lowes Hardware.
Future expansions of this new plant could include additional storage racks for product inventory and above ground liquid storage tanks plus associated packaging equipment.
