LNG
Venture Global Inks LNG Supply Deal with Excelerate Energy - U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Venture Global LNG (Arlington, Virginia) said on Tuesday it would supply 0.7 million tonnes of LNG per year to Excelerate Energy Incorporated (NYSE:EE) (The Woodlands, Texas) for 20 years. The LNG will be supplied to Excelerate from Venture's Plaquemines LNG facility in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana on a free-on-board basis. U.S. Crude Oil Production Declines in December - U.S. crude oil production fell in December to 12.10 million barrels per day (BBL/d), its lowest since August 2022, U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) data showed on Tuesday. Among the top oil producing states, monthly output in Texas sank 1.2% to 5.15 million BBL/d, also its lowest since August 2022, the EIA said. In North Dakota, output sank 12.5% to about 950,000 BBL/d, its lowest since April 2022. (Reuters)
COAL
German Coal Imports Increased in 2022 - Germany last year imported 44.4 million tonnes of hard coal, 8% more than a year earlier, as it burnt more coal after Russia turned off the gas taps, industry figures showed on Monday. Russia's coal shipments to the country dropped by 37% in the year. Despite the sharp decline, Russia remained Germany's top coal supplier for the year. Russia accounted for a 13 million-tonne share, 29.3% of the total. (Reuters)
