Vietnam's IDICO and Dongfang Electric Sign Supply Contract for Four Hydraulic Turbine Generating Units

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Dongfang Electric Corporation Limited (SHA:600875) (Chengdu) has signed a supply contract with the Vietnam Urban and Industrial Zones Development Investment Corporation (HCM:UIC) (IDICO) (Dong Nai, Vietnam) for hydraulic turbine generating units. According to the contract, Dongfang Electric will supply four hydraulic turbine generating units with a total installed capacity of 190 megawatts (MW) to IDICO, including two 74-MW Francis units for the Dak Mi 4A power station and two 21-MW Francis units for the Dak Mi 4B power station in Vietnam. The four units will be manufactured by Dongfang Electric Machinery Works Company Limited (Leshan, Sichuan), a subsidiary of Dongfang Electric.

The signing of the contract is a sign of Dongfang Electric's steady expansion into Vietnam's hydropower market. The company had also supplied units to IDICO for the Srok Phu Mieng power station. The plant's successful start-up helped to pave the way for Dongfang Electric and IDICO's second supply contract, Dongfang Electric said.
