Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Vifan Canada Incorporated plans to select a location by the end of 2002 for a new Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene film production line. The sites under consideration are in Montreal, Quebec and Morristown, Tennessee.
The new line is estimated to increase Vifan's film production capacity by 50,000 tons per year and could cost upwards of $90 million. The construction could begin as early as the forth quarter of this year with completion next summer. If the installation and operation of the new production line is profitable, Vibac Group, Vifan's parent in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, could install a second new line at one of its North American operations.
Vifan Canada Incorporated is a wholly owned Film division of the Amsterdam-based Vibac Group. Vibac is a privately held company that specializes in the production of adhesive tapes and films.
