Wyeth Completes Massive Renovation of Former Aventis Site in Pennsylvania

Wyeth (NYSE: WYE) (Madison, New Jersey) has completed the move of their Wyeth Pharmaceuticals division to Collegeville, Pennsylvania. (PEC 12002479). Wyeth purchased the former Aventis (NYSE:AVE) (Strasbourg, France) property in December 2000. The move was made to consolidate Wyeth Pharmaceuticals' key research operations, specifically those formerly located in Princeton, New Jersey and two Pennsylvania locations, Radnor and King of Prussia. Over 4,000 people were moved to the new research campus in phases spanning two years.
Wyeth more than doubled the size of the Collegeville site, adding four new buildings and performing extensive renovations and upgrades to approximately 120 existing laboratories. The Collegeville campus now totals nearly two million square feet. Wyeth invested over $75 million in the upgrade and expansion of the property.
Wyeth's major divisions include Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Wyeth Consumer Healthcare and Fort Dodge Animal Health. Wyeth develops, manufactures and markets pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biotechnology products and non- prescription medicines. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals offers products in the areas of women's health care, cardiovascular disease, central nervous system, inflammation, hemophilia, oncology and vaccines.
