Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Fortune 500 company Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) (Norwalk, Connecticut) has announced plans for a $25 million expansion of the company's manufacturing plant in Webster, New York.
Xerox plans to perform infrastructure upgrades and modifications to the existing five-story, 100,000-square-foot plant to increase the company's manufacturing capacity of EA toners by 50% and to handle the increasing worldwide need for toner used in Xerox printers and production presses. Construction is anticipated to begin this month, and overall completion slated for the fall of 2011.
The existing EA toner plant originally opened in 2007 and includes more than 20 miles of pipe and stainless steel tanks that produce billions of micron-sized toner particles. EA toners produce shaper images, using less toner per page. The toner was developed by Xerox and is protected by more than 300 patents.
LeChase Construction Incorporated (Rochester, New York) has been selected to provide general construction services for the expansion.
