One of the largest projects in the quarter is set to kick off in Arkansas. In Forrest City, Shandong Ruyi Technology Group Company Limited (Jining, China) plans to renovate a 1.4 million-square-foot former Sanyo Manufacturing Corporation plant to process more than 200,000 tons per year of cotton, spinning it into yarn for textiles to be manufactured elsewhere. The $410 million project would kick off this summer, taking about a year to complete. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
Construction of data centers is prominent in the region's planned projects starts, particularly around the Dallas, Texas, metroplex. Among these is CyrusOne LLC's (Dallas) Phase II expansion of its data center in Allen, about 25 miles northeast of Dallas. The expansion is part of a planned 1.4 million-square-foot data center complex. Phase II entails constructing a 619,000-square-foot building with four 60,000-square-foot data halls and 30,000 square feet of office space. Structure Tone incorporated (Dallas) will be the general contractor on the project, which has an estimated total investment value (TIV) of $380 million. Phase II is expected to be completed in late 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
As with other regions of the U.S., warehousing and distribution center projects also are springing up. Among the largest of these is Dollar Tree Stores Incorporated's (NASDAQ:DLTR) (Chesapeake, Virginia) planned distribution center in Rosenburg, Texas, near Houston. The 1.2 million-square-foot facility will support regional distribution operations for Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores. Construction is set to begin this summer, taking a little more than a year to complete. The project has an estimated TIV of $130 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
In Little Rock, Arkansas, CZ-USA (Kansas City, Kansas) will begin construction on a plant to manufacture firearms. Construction on the 265,000-square-foot facility is planned to be completed in first-quarter 2020. The project is the first phase of a planned two-phase project. Phase II, which would expand operations to support the company's growth plan, could kick off in 2021. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on Phase I and Phase II.
In Oklahoma, Muncie Power Products Incorporated (Tulsa, Oklahoma) plans to kick off construction on a truck parts manufacturing facility at an industrial park in Tulsa. The 200,000-square-foot facility will manufacture power take-offs and fluid power components for commercial trucks. Construction on the $50 million plant is expected to take about a year to complete. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
In Lancaster, Texas, near Dallas, printing company Vistaprint (Tecumseh, Ontario) will begin construction on a 322,000-square-foot, grassroot commercial printing plant and distribution hub. Becknell Industrial (Lyons, Illinois) is the real estate developer. The project is expected to kick off this summer and be completed in the first half of next year. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
