Cargill Shuts Louisiana Salt Plants Due to Barry, an Industrial Info Market Brief
Cargill has temporarily shut down the Avery Island underground salt mine and Breaux Bridge evaporated salt plants in Louisiana, following the landfall of Hurricane Barry on Saturday. The company is assessing damages and will announce later today when a resumption to operations and shipping will occur. Barry has been downgraded to a tropical depression.
