Chevron Phillips Chemical has rescheduled planned maintenance on the 620 million pound-per-year LDPE 1792 unit at its Baytown (Cedar Bayou), Texas, chemical plant. The 30-day turnaround originally was planned to begin in January, but has been postponed to September.
Pemex EyP Subdireccion de Aguas Someras (AS01) was forced to shut down the Akal-C6 module at its Akal-C Offshore Complex, due to a fire on January 7. As a result, the 900 million standard-cubic-feet-per-day (MMSCFD) Akal-C7/C8 modules are processing at 550 MMSCFD. The restart date of the Akal-C6 is unknown at this time.
International
Eastern Petrochemical Company restarted the 2.86 billion pound-per-year ethylene unit, today, January 9, at its Jubail Complex in Saudi Arabia. The unit was shut down for planned maintenance on December 11.
Bakhtar Petrochemical Company has rescheduled a 30-day maintenance turnaround on the 2.20 billion pound-per-year ethylene unit at its Bandar Asaluyeh Complex in Iran. The turnaround initially was planned for March 22, but will now commence on July 14. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by August 12.
Borealis Plastomers is on schedule to perform a 3-month major, plant-wide maintenance turnaround, beginning February 3, at its Chemelot-Geleen Plant in the Netherlands, which features a 264 million pound-per-year Linear Polyethylene unit.
