In January, China's National Energy Administration issued the "13th Five-Year Plan" for biomass energy development. According to the planning target, by 2020, China's biomass energy industry will increase its investment by 196 billion yuan (US$27 billion), of which 40 billion yuan (US$5.6 billion) will be invested in biomass power generation.
