Despite the international sanctions imposed on North Korea, Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) is considering a plan to supply gas to North Korea. Together with domestic power generation companies, it plans to build gas-fired power plants and supply gas in the North Sea and East Sea ports.

An Inter-Korean Energy Cooperation Promotion Team was formed in May last year to research the possibility of forming cooperative natural gas projects with North Korea.

KOGAS held five meetings afterwards. The Industry-Academic Cooperation Agency submitted a final report to the Korea Gas Corporation in December last year for a study on North Korea's energy status and natural gas projects.

Industrial Info is tracking 55 KOGAS capital projects worth $3.3 billion. Click here for a list.
