President Trump announced during a recent visit to Midland, Texas, that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has enacted a new policy to extend liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to 2050. The previous policy granted a 20-year export approval.
This includes countries with which the U.S. does not have a free-trade agreement (FTA), which usually is one of the last and longest approvals for LNG production. In recent years, the U.S. quickly has become the world's largest producer of natural gas.
