BP Products today, September 23, restarted the 120,000-BBL/d coker unit at its 490,000-BBL/d Whiting, Indiana, refinery, after the completion of planned maintenance that began on September 9.
Motiva on September 21, shut down and restarted the 85,000-BBL/d CRU 5 (NPC) CCR Reformer at its 600,000-BBL/d Port Arthur, Texas, refinery.
Irving Oil's 300,000-BBL/d Saint John, New Brunswick, refinery, remains operational and suffered no damage as a result of Tropical Storm Teddy.
International
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has rescheduled a 25-day planned major turnaround of the 11,000-BBL/d Reformer 1 (CRU), 8,000-BBL/d VBU and 16,000-BBL/d DHDS units at its 300,000-BBL/d Panipat Refinery in India. The turnaround, which was scheduled for August 15, is now expected to begin by January 15, 2021. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units by February 8.
IOCL's 160,000-BBL/d Haldia Refinery in India continues to operate at approximately 57%. The 84,000-BBL/d CDU 2 was forced to shut down on September 5 due to low demand as a result of COVID-19. Expectations are to restart the CDU 2 by September 30. Meanwhile, the 76,000-BBL/d CDU 1 is running at around 86,400 BBL/d, which is over design capacity. Additionally, the 36,100-BBL/d RFCCU and 34,000-BBL/d coker units are derated by 10% and 43%, respectively, while the 34,000-BBL/d HCU is derated by 35%, and the 30,000-BBL/d DHDS by 20%. The units are expected to resume full throughput by October 9.
Idemitsu Kosan Company restarted the 33,000-BBL/d RFCCU on September 20 and the 42,000-BBL/d Residual Hydrotreater on September 22, at its 150,000-BBL/d Hokkaido Refinery in Japan. The units had been under a maintenance shutdown since June 15.
