Destilaria Vale do Paracatu Agroenergia Ltda, located in Minas Gerais, Brazil, has confirmed a $5 million investment to double the capacity of its Paracatu ethanol plant.
Once investments have been completed to increase sugar crops, the company plans to expand ethanol production from 200,000 to 400,000 liters per day with the installation of a new distillation column. The investment also will require the expansion of the operation's 1 million-liter-per-year wastewater treatment plant to 1.5 million liters and the construction of a 20 million-liter ethanol storage tank.
