LyondellBasell's 2.5 billion-pound-per-year olefins unit at its Corpus Christi, Texas, plant, remains offline. The plant was shut down on February 14 in preparation for Winter Storm Uri. LyondellBasell expects to attempt a restart in mid-March.
LyondellBasell has begun restart activities on the 1.9 billion-pound-per-year OP 1 and 1.9 billion-pound-per-year OP 2 ethylene units, 1.96 billion-pound-per-year OP2 flex metathesis propylene, and other production units, at its Channelview, Texas, plant. The plant was shut down on February 15 due to Winter Storm Uri.
Motiva restarted the 1.56 billion-pound-per-year LOU ethylene unit on March 3 at its Port Arthur, Texas, plant. The plant, which was shut down on February 14 due to Winter Storm Uri, is ramping up production through this week.

LyondellBasell Industries NV is still on schedule for a planned maintenance turnaround of its 590 million-pound-per-year Ferrara Polypropylene Plant in Italy that is expected to kick off in early October, with completion around mid-October.
NS Styrene Monomer Company Limited began a 26-day planned turnaround of the 537.2 million-pound-per-year No.3 Ethylbenzene unit, today, March 4, at its Oita Chemicals Plant in Japan. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit on March 29.
Prime Polymer Company Limited restarted the 447.53 million-pound-per-year high-density polyethylene resins (HDPE), 277.78 million-pound-per-year polypropylene resins and 211.64 million-pound-per-year linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) units on February 26 at its Ichihara Chemical Complex in Japan. The units were shut down due to a power failure caused by an earthquake on February 13.
