Merck's Maurice R. Hillman Center for Vaccine Manufacturing in Durham (Treyburn), NC is on board to help with boosting production of Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine. The plant will provide the bulk drug substance (biological active pharmaceutical ingredient) for the drug.
One of two plants designated to help produce the drug, the Durham facility has $800 million in active capital expansion projects.
