Nissin Foods do Brasil Ltda, a subsidiary of Japan-based Nissin Foods Holding Company Limited, recently announced plans to invest R$350 million (US$64.1 million) to construct a noodles production facility in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, with operations commencing by the end of 2023.

Construction at the 420,000-square-meter site, which is near the city limits, is scheduled to begin by 2022. Three lines of instant noodles--Miojo Lamen, Cup Noodles and Yakkissoba brands--will be produced. Two further investment phases have been proposed to produce granola, cookies and rice noodles.

Nissin Foods is now in the construction permit process, which it expects to complete by the end of 2021.
