February 24, 2023--Written by Daniel Graeber for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Citing recent market volatility, U.S. shale player Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NASDAQ:CHK) (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) said it plans to trim operations in both the Haynesville and Appalachia shale plays this year. Chesapeake is working to leave a troubled legacy in the past. Along with Sandridge Energy (NYSE:SD) (Oklahoma City), the company was the target of a 2015 class-action suit alleging manipulation of lease programs for the Anadarko Basin in northwest Oklahoma.
