California Reaches More than 6.6 GW of Installed BESS Capacity
October 27, 2023--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Recent data from the California Energy Commission (CEC) show California has more than 6,600 megawatts (MW) of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity online, up from 770 MW four years ago and double the amount installed two years ago. Industrial Info is tracking $22 billion worth of active and planned BESS projects across California, about half of which Industrial Info's researchers have assessed with a medium-to-high likelihood (70% or more) of moving forward as planned.
