Chile's Codelco Upbeat on Copper Output, Seeks New Capacity
Researched by Amir Richani for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Chilean national mining company Codelco (Santiago, Chile) expects to produce nearly 1.7 million tons of copper by 2030. André Sougarret, the president and chief executive officer of Codelco, discussed Codelco's production goals, output drop and upcoming projects at a conference last week.
During a presentation, Sougarret said the company could return to an output of 1.7 million tons of copper by 2030, but only if it could replace 50% of its production with newer projects over the next decade.
