Chile's ENAP is seeking to balance its refining production with the drop in demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. On June 3, the company took its 115,700 barrel-per-day (BBL/d), Bio Bio refinery offline, following a 65% derate, in response to diminished demand; and in order to perform a 40-day planned turnaround on the facility's 50,300-BBL/d Crude Topping 1 unit. ENAP plans to keep the refinery offline until early August. ENAP also has increased throughput at its 100,000-BBL/d Aconcagua refinery to full capacity, to compensate for the Bio Bio refinery and the 28,600-BBL/d Gregorio refinery, which has been offline since March 21.
